Premium Permanent Magnetic Drum Separator
The Permanent Drum Type Magnetic Separator is a highly effective, non-electric solution for removing tramp iron from non-magnetic materials processed in large volumes. It ensures the purity of final products, aids in the recovery of commercially valuable metals, and protects machinery in processing plants. This equipment is widely used across various industries to eliminate iron contamination from minerals, chemicals, food, flour, plastics, grains, sand, cement, fertilizers, abrasives, glass, slag, ores, rock, refractories, and many other materials.
Working Principle & Magnetic System
The Permanent Magnetic Drum features a stationary magnetic assembly that produces a consistent and long-lasting magnetic field spanning the full width of the drum. This magnetic field typically covers about half of the drum’s circumference.
The drum shell, constructed from non-magnetic stainless steel, rotates around the magnetic field. As material is evenly fed onto the drum from a chute, the powerful magnetic field attracts and retains ferrous particles on the surface of the rotating shell. Non-magnetic materials, unaffected by the magnetic field, fall away from the drum and are discharged separately. Meanwhile, ferrous particles remain attached to the shell until they are carried beyond the magnetic field and discharged.
Permanent magnetic drums offer stronger magnetic performance compared to electromagnetic drums. The magnets used are permanent and maintain their strength throughout normal operation, ensuring long-term reliability without degradation.
