Construction and Operation Details
Premium Pulman chain conveyors are designed for handling a wide range of free-flowing bulk materials such as grains and seeds. Built for quick and efficient operation, they minimize damage to materials while ensuring consistent performance.
The conveyors use UHMWPE liners, allowing material to be carried smoothly along the entire depth of the trough. With equal discharge rates, the return chain helps maintain continuous material flow at maximum efficiency.
Working Principle:
- Material passes the upper return chain and falls into the trough bottom.
- The lower chain then moves the material forward toward the discharge end.
- As additional material is introduced, it settles on top of the moving layer and is discharged at the same rate as the chain’s movement.
Safety Features
To ensure reliable and safe operation, Premium Pulman chain conveyors are equipped with advanced safety mechanisms:
- Overflow Protection: An inbuilt overflow device removes excess material at the discharge end. If limits are exceeded, a limit switch stops the motor.
- Speed Monitoring: If the motor speed deviates beyond tolerance, a sensor probe at the rail end signals the zero-speed switch, which halts the motor instantly—ensuring safe and controlled operation.
